October 19, 2024Day 1-3: Arrival in Leh (3 Nights)
- Leh Exploration: Upon arriving in Leh, you will need time to acclimatize to the high altitude (3,500 m). Take it easy on the first day, staying hydrated and resting.
- Day 1: Settle into your hotel, stroll around the local Leh market, and visit Shanti Stupa for sunset views over the town.
- Day 2: Explore Leh Palace, a 17th-century palace offering panoramic views, and Shey Palace. Visit Thiksey Monastery, one of the largest and most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh, and Hemis Monastery, known for its annual festival.
- Day 3: Head to Magnetic Hill and Sangam Point, where the Zanskar and Indus rivers meet, and visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. For adventure lovers, there’s also a chance to go white-water rafting in the Zanskar River.
Day 4: Nubra Valley (1 Night)
- Travel to Nubra Valley: Cross the Khardung La Pass (one of the highest motorable roads in the world, at 18,380 ft) to reach Nubra Valley, a desert landscape amidst the mountains.
- Highlights:
- Diskit Monastery: Home to a 32-meter tall statue of Maitreya Buddha.
- Hunder Sand Dunes: Experience the desert-like landscape and ride the famous double-humped Bactrian camels.
- Stay overnight at a camp or homestay in Nubra for a unique cultural experience.

Day 5: Pangong Lake (1 Night)
- Travel to Pangong Lake: Drive to Pangong Tso via Shyok River or back via Khardung La.
- Highlights:
- Pangong Lake: Spanning 134 km and located at 14,270 ft, the lake is renowned for its changing colors, from shades of blue to green. Relax by the shore, take photos, and enjoy the tranquility of this breathtaking high-altitude lake.
- Spend the night in a lakeside camp or nearby guesthouse for a truly peaceful experience under the stars.
- Highlights:
Day 6: Tso Moriri Lake (1 Night)
- Travel to Tso Moriri: Depart for Tso Moriri Lake, a secluded and lesser-known high-altitude lake at 4,522 meters, surrounded by mountains and offering mesmerizing views.
- Highlights:
- Korzok Village: Visit the remote Korzok Monastery, one of the highest settlements in the world, located near the lake.
- Birdwatching and Wildlife: Spot migratory birds, including the black-necked crane, and other wildlife like wild asses (kiang) in the surrounding areas.
- Stay overnight in a camp or homestay near Tso Moriri, where you’ll experience the raw, untouched beauty of Ladakh.
- Highlights:
Day 7: Return to Leh
- Return to Leh: Travel back to Leh, taking in the final views of the breathtaking Ladakhi landscape. Depending on your departure time, you can explore more local spots in Leh before concluding your journey.
